(Dan Tri) – With the massive launch of a series of products, new floor prices have been set for some high-undercarriage car segments, making competition increasingly fierce.

Last September was the most exciting month of the Vietnamese auto market, witnessing the launch of more than 10 completely new car models, most of which were crossovers and SUVs, a segment that is increasingly popular.

Let’s review these newly launched products.

VinFast VF 6

VF 6 is the 5th model in VinFast’s pure electric product range.

If buying the battery outright, users will need to spend an additional 90 million VND, corresponding to a price of 765 million VND for the Base version and 855 million VND for the Plus version.

Meanwhile, if you buy a car without a battery, the user will have to pay a fixed battery rental fee of 1.8 million VND/month for 1,500km, plus an additional 1,200 VND/km.

Both versions of the VF 6 use the same electric motor located at the front axle, but have different output parameters.

The 59.6kW LFP battery cluster provides a maximum operating range of 399km after each full charge (according to WLTP standards), which is 399km for the Base version and 381km for the Plus version.

Toyota Yaris Cross

This model belongs to the B-class urban high-rise car segment, but the selling price of 730-838 million VND is on par with C-class cars such as Corolla Cross 1.8G (from 760 million VND) or Mazda CX-5 (from 749 million VND).

The car is imported CBU from Indonesia, distributed in 2 versions: gasoline (from 730 million VND) and HEV (hybrid – from 838 million VND).

The gasoline version uses a 4-cylinder engine, 1.5L capacity, naturally aspirated, producing maximum power of 105 horsepower and maximum torque of 138Nm.

Meanwhile, the HEV version uses a hybrid powertrain combining a 1.5L gasoline engine (90 horsepower, 121Nm), with an electric motor (79 horsepower, 141Nm), with a lithium-ion battery and gearbox.

MG RX5

The presence of the MG RX5 has caused the Mazda CX-5 to lose its position as the cheapest C-SUV in the Vietnamese market.

MG RX5 uses a turbocharged gasoline engine, 4 cylinders, 1.5L capacity, producing 168 horsepower and maximum torque of 275Nm, combined with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive system.

The car has an attractive price, eye-catching design, and comes with attractive amenities, such as Qi wireless phone charging, panoramic sunroof, air conditioning vents and 2 phone charging ports for the seats.

However, the 2023 MG RX5 lacks ADAS active safety features, while the price is not much cheaper than the Mazda CX-5, so it may be difficult to convince Vietnamese customers.

Skoda Karoq and Kodiaq duo

This SUV duo marks the official entry of the Czech automobile brand Skoda into the Vietnamese market, through distributor TC Motor.

Currently, Skoda cars sold in Vietnam are imported complete units from Europe, but in the future they may be assembled at TC Motor’s factory in Quang Ninh.
