(Dan Tri) – A witness who can reverse the decision to prosecute former US President Donald Trump has been called to testify before the jury.

Reuters reported that Robert Costello, legal advisor to lawyer Michael Cohen, was summoned to testify before a grand jury in Manhattan, New York.
Mr. Costello’s testimony will be held privately in New York on March 20 local time.
The request to summon Mr. Costello can be seen as part of Mr. Trump’s legal team’s efforts to avoid the former President’s arrest next Tuesday.
Previously, Mr. Cohen, Mr. Trump’s former lawyer, claimed that the former president ordered money to be paid to two women, including $130,000 to porn star Stormy Daniels, to ask them to keep their relationship private.
Stormy Daniels, born Stephanie Clifford, claimed to have had sex with Mr. Trump in Nevada in 2006, when Mr. Trump was married to former First Lady Melania.

On March 18, former US President Donald Trump posted an article on the social network Truth Social on March 18, which admitted that he might be arrested by Manhattan district prosecutors in New York.
`Protest, let’s take back our country,` Mr. Trump wrote.
Responding to former President Trump’s call, Republican Congressman Kevin McCarthy, who serves as Speaker of the US House of Representatives, asked Mr. Trump’s supporters to stay calm.
`I don’t think people should protest. Please stay calm,` Mr. McCarthy said.
Previously, the former president received a summons to appear before a grand jury in Manhattan to corroborate previous testimony.
Mr. Trump’s arrest, if it happens, could become an event that shakes American politics.
Former President Trump is actively campaigning for the race to return to the White House in 2024. However, observers say that Mr. Trump’s plan to return to the White House will not be easy as he will face opponents.
